This will become one of the biggest deal every in the industry "IF", it's approved. But, what does this mean for the consumers and the competition? Time Warner specialized in creating content. Such as TV shows, channels and movies which has made them one of the largest face in the media business over the years. They are facing a major problem that's hurting them in their pocket. Time Warner realize that they are losing the younger audience who are using mobile devices to watch more of their favorite movies and shows. AT&T comes into play because they have created the platform over the years that would allow consumers to access Time Warner content on wireless, phone and cable networks wherever and whenever they choose. This is one of the major reasons why AT&T wants to buy Time Warner. There are pros and cons for consumers who are concerned about the takeover of Time Warner. If you already have AT&T, you can rest assured knowing that you may have access to a lot of Time Warner content, luring new customers by offering perks to access Time Warner's hit shows. The merger will give customers the ability to stream certain content without worry about their data plan being consumed. But, for consumers who have membership with rival telecom companies', they may have to pay more out of pocket, switch providers, or go without. This will possibly cost the consumers time, and headache with having to decide. Smaller media companies that specialize in the same business as Time Warner, are facing the same problem as Time Warner dealing with consumers. But if the deal with AT&T and Time Warner goes through, it will be increasingly harder for any smaller media company's to get noticed and push past the dominant market players without privilege access to a network like AT&T's. As for now, the consumers have no chose but, to sit and wait until the final decision is made dealing with the AT&T- Time Warner deal.
